Banfield Foundation Grant Programs

Through our grant programs, the Banfield Foundation is committed to supporting nonprofit organizations that provide veterinary assistance to pet owners and work to keep pets in homes with their families.

All applicants must be nonprofit organizations with proof of 501(c)(3) status and running programs that deliver assistance to pets and their owners living in the United States. If you have questions or want more information, please e-mail info@banfieldfoundation.org or call 360-784-7866.

Disaster Relief Grants

Our Disaster Relief Grants provide financial support to nonprofit animal organizations and/or local or state governments whose communities have suffered the impact of natural or other disasters.

Grants are reviewed on an ongoing basis.

We encourage nonprofit organizations to contact us to discuss eligibility requirements.

PLEASE NOTE: If required materials are not included, your application will not be considered for funding.

Veterinary Medical Equipment Grants

Our Veterinary Medical Equipment Grants support nonprofit organizations to purchase veterinary medical equipment for on-site animal shelter veterinary clinics, low-cost veterinary practices, mobile veterinary units, disaster relief vehicles, etc. Before submitting your application, please review the guidelines and/or contact us to discuss eligibility requirements. Grants are reviewed on an ongoing basis.

PLEASE NOTE: Applications will be reviewed within 90 days and notification on the status on the application will be determined within that time frame. Additionally, if required materials are not included, your application will not be considered for funding.

Veterinary Assistance Grants

Our Veterinary Assistance Grants provide financial support to nonprofit organizations to fund veterinary care programs for pet owners who meet established qualifications. Grants are reviewed on an ongoing basis.

Before submitting your application, please review our required grant application materials to make certain that your application is in compliance with all guidelines.

PLEASE NOTE: Due to high volumes of applications, notification on your grant application may take up to six months. Additionally, if required materials are not included, your application will not be considered for funding.

Pet Advocacy Grants

Our Pet Advocacy Grants support nonprofit organization programs that are designed to keep pets healthy and in loving homes.

We strongly encourage nonprofit organization leaders to contact us to discuss eligibility requirements before applying.

Pet Advocacy Grant application deadlines are April 30th and October 31st. Applications should arrive on or before the deadline date to be considered for funding for that cycle.

Care Knows No Boundaries Grants

Our Care Knows No Boundaries (CKNB) grants enable veterinarians and certified veterinary technicians to remove the barriers that keep pets from receiving much-needed care.

Any veterinarian or certified veterinary technician within any Mars business segment in the United States is eligible to apply for funding to assist with travel expenses in the form of a CKNB grant. This grant enables global volunteer work that supports Mars Petcare’s purpose of A Better World for Pets.

PLEASE NOTE: Applications will be reviewed within 7 days and notification on the status on the application will be determined within that time frame. Additionally, if required materials are not included, your application will not be considered for funding.

Safer Together Grants

Our Safer Together Grant provides funding to pet-friendly domestic violence shelters, animal shelters, boarding facilities or foster care systems in order to help with veterinary care, temporary boarding, behavior training and funding of dedicated animal care positions in support of pets of domestic violence victims. Funding can be awarded to the domestic violence shelter or to a non-profit housing the pets which has a formal established relationship with at least one non-profit domestic violence shelter.

We strongly encourage nonprofit organization leaders to contact us to discuss eligibility requirements before applying.

Safer Together Grant application deadlines are March 31 and September 30. Applications should arrive on or before the deadline date to be considered for funding for that cycle.
