Dr. Burton was born and raised in Fort Lauderdale and growing up, her pets were always considered family. She graduated from the Tuskegee University School of Veterinary Medicine. While in veterinary school, she earned a fellowship at Stanford University, where she studied paralysis recovery. Dr. Burton believes that if you choose a job you love, you will never work a day in your life. Veterinary medicine is that job for her. She believes working with pets is a privilege and that veterinarians make a difference in everyone's life. "The majority of people have a story to tell about animals, therefore, I have something in common with almost everyone." In her down time, she enjoys kayaking, hiking, traveling, live music, and comedy, but most importantly, she enjoys keeping up with her husband and their two sons.
