Dr. Manuel Bastarrachea

Dr. Bastarrachea is originally from Merida, Yucatan Mexico and graduated as a Medico Veterinario Zootecnista (MVZ) from the Autonomous University of Yucatan in 1992. He practiced in Mexico for about 4 years, working with small and large animals. Dr. Bastarrachea moved to the U.S. in 1996, thanks to his wife, Claudia, and signed up for the ECFVG (Educational Commission for Foreign Veterinary Graduates) a few years later. After many adversities and years trying to complete the certification, he completed it in 2017. Dr. Bastarrachea has worked for Banfield since 1999 and feels that the company has been a great supporter of his career in the U.S. He loves to work with small animals, and has 3 beautiful dogs at home. Additionally, he loves sports and movies, and spending time with his wife and daughters, Jessica and Monica. Dr. Bastarrachea is truly thankful for the opportunity to work as a veterinarian in the U.S., and he is fluent in Spanish and English.
