    Dr. Gabriel Franca

    Chief of staff

    Dr. Franca graduated from the University of São Paulo Veterinary School, Brazil in 2003. He worked extensively with wildlife and exotic animals in a non-profit organization while in vet school and after graduation, would see a variety of animals. He has been happily working with Banfield since May 2013 and was promoted to Chief of Staff in October 2015. Dr. Franca has a grey cat named Zulu, a brown tabby named Kaya, Koopi, a yellow tabby who was born with congenital problems on his back legs and cannot use them, and a Chihuahua named Ramon. He also has frogs, snakes, and lizards. Dr. Franca's hobbies include hiking, camping, running, watching movies and reading "A Song of Ice and Fire" books. More Details >>

    Dr. Jennifer Barton


    Dr. Barton is originally from Illinois and graduated from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine in 2012. She completed an internship in Oregon in 2013, and moved to Southern California to practice with large and small animals. In 2015, she elected to focus exclusively on small animal medicine and surgery. Her professional interests include canine and feline lameness, soft tissue surgery, geriatric feline medicine, and promoting excellent preventive medicine.     Andrea Morales

    Shift Lead

    Andrea (also known as Andie) has been with the company since 2009. She started at Long Beach Banfield as a pet care taker and has worked her way up as a veterinary assistant in many hospitals. She attended Mt. San Antonio College and received her A.S. degree in RVT (Registered Veterinary Technician). She will be sitting for her Registered Veterinary Technician National Exam this summer to receive her certification. Andie would like to continue school and specialize in laboratory animals, or a different form of specialty to continue her education in the field.     Veterinary Assistant

    Janet (also known as Abbie) has been with Banfield since 2014. She is currently a veterinary assistant and is working on being our shift lead. Abbie graduated from Carrington College in Pomona in 2014 and will be taking her VTNE at the end of this year. She has always loved being around animals and has a special interest in surgery. Abbie has a 2-year-old daughter and a 5-year-old golden retriever that she absolutely adores. She is looking forward on starting a new chapter with Banfield. More Details >>

    Brook was born and raised in Southern California. She has two cats at home, Willy and Gigi, but loves all animals just the same. She went to Carrington College and graduated in March of 2016.     Stephanie Pena

    Veterinary Assistant

    Stephanie studied veterinary technology at Platt College and graduated in May 2016. She is working towards getting her RVT license at the end of the year. She has two dogs including a 4-year-old Labrador named Presley and a 2-year-old American shepherd named Indy. On her days off, she also works as a dog trainer.     Sierra St John

    Client Service Coordinator

    Sierra has been a client service coordinator with Banfield since April of 2016. She attends school at California State University, Long Beach for environmental science and geography. She also volunteers as an exhibit interpreter at the Aquarium of the Pacific. She has a strong passion for all animals, but especially exotics and wildlife. She owns two cats, a tortoise, and several freshwater fish tanks, but her absolute most adored pets are her three Guinea pigs, Snowball, Napoleon, and Cupid, after rescuing them from abandonment. In the future, she hopes to obtain her veterinary technician license in order to further grow her career within the veterinary field. More Details >>
